Quick Q&A
There are several ways to read e-books:
- → Streaming : online access only, no download possible
- → ePub download : download an epub file, read it with Adobe Digital Editions to unlock it. You can access it for a given time (8 to 15 days depending on the platform) before it disappears.
- → PDF download: you have access to the PDF of a chapter or of the entire book, you keep the file
These different accesses are always indicated on the platforms.
What kind of problem do you have ?
- If it's a technical problem (e.g., a problem while downloading or reading the file): check the loan mode and make sure you have downloaded Adobe Digital Editions to your computer
- If it's an access problem (no access to the full text for example): the e-book you want may not be part of our subscription
- → To see only the books you have access to :
- • On Elgar, you can check "All accessible content" in the filters on your left

- • On Cairn, you must check "Full text available through your institution" / “Texte intégral accessible via votre institution”.

If an ebook is not available but you feel you need it, you can send a message to the Library so we can purcharse it for you.
If all the previous information could not help you, make a ticket to the Library that will be happy to guide you in your steps.
